Elfin Cottage for Two

Elfin Cottage is the self-contained annexe for two adults, on the seaward side of Elfinston Corner, one of the most beautifully situated houses in Walberswick. This secluded family home enjoys superb panoramic views which draw the eye over field and marsh towards the RSPB Nature Reserve at Minsmere, but primarily to the sea, which is easily accessible along local paths.

Wildlife abounds in this quiet garden, including deer and foxes. It is a birdwatchers' haven being visited by a great variety of garden birds, as well as marsh birds (egrets, lapwings, marsh harriers and more) and migratory birds in season. The extraordinary sound of bitterns booming can be heard.
Outdoors, alongside Elfin Cottage, are a table and chairs just for two, with views to Walberswick village, the sea wall and beach. This east-facing sunny spot is a perfect place to take breakfast, or, at the end of the day, to sit and watch a full moon rise over the sea.

To welcome you and to encourage a relaxing stay a bottle of wine will be in the house awaiting your arrival.

 

ACCOMMODATION

  • Door to Entrance Lobby. Coat hooks, a full length mirror and boot storage. Off this area is the
  • Shower Room with electric shower, WC, handbasin, storage shelves and rectractable indoor clothes line.
    Steps down to
  • Kitchen. Compact, galley-style, with exposed beams, quarry tile floor. Plenty of crockery/cutlery. Equipped with microwave, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment, mini-cooker (two rings). Shelves and storage area.
    Steps up to lockable connecting door to the hallway of Elfinston Corner.
  • Double Bedroom, with double bed, bedside tables, wardrobe, Lloyd
    Loom chair and other furniture. Parquet floor. Sea views through the conservatory.
  • Conservatory, with oak floor and with Pilkington Blue glass (no sunblinds necessary). Enjoy sea views all day. Comfortably furnished with a three-seater sofa and armchair plus dining table and chairs for four. Freeview (Digital) TV, portable radio and side tables.

OUTSIDE

  • The property is approached along an unmade road, and then on foot through a garden gate and up a brick path through part of the garden.
    Off road parking for one car is outside the garage.
  • Large established garden, shared with the main house.
  • Table and benches, also swing-seat.
  • Separate table and two chairs exclusively for Elfin Cottage guests outside own front door.
  • Additional separate table and two chairs alongside east-facing wall of Elfin Cottage for exclusive use of Cottage guests.
  • From the front gate turn left for paths to the beach (approx 10 minutes) or turn right for Walberswick village with its shop, pubs, village green, village hall, beach and much more. Or by walking along the beach join up the two to make a circular walk.

SERVICES

  • Off road parking for one car is outside the garage.
  • Includes services of a friendly cleaner for one hour on Wednesday mornings.
  • All linen (inc. towels and teatowels etc) can be provided at £20 per week
    or bring own linen. NB beach towels are not provided.
  • Available for Short Breaks out of High Season.
  • Elfin Cottage and Elfinston Corner can be let together, to sleep up to six giving exclusive use of this super property.
